Nordvalla, 1784. It has snowed for three years, because Crown Prince Seol Ji-hwan's heart rules the weather and his heart is frozen. When he grieves, the harbor freezes; when he blushes, it snows indoors. Twelve entertainers have failed to make him smile. Then Valentina Cruz arrives, a fire-dancer from the southern deserts whose flames are no trick and who has never once taken no for an answer. She has until the spring equinox to melt him. He has a very good reason to stay frozen.
