Insomniac courtroom sketch artist Im Si-won draws the lit windows of the Hotel Belvedere every night from his rooftop studio in Busan's old port, one window more than the others. At 2:14 a.m. he watches a woman in a red dress stab a man in Suite 707. By morning there is no body and no police. By noon the hotel's owner, Wang Ji-hye, is at his door in that same red dress, asking him to say nothing. He has never wanted anyone more, or trusted anyone less.
