London, 1891. Lady Elise Navarre solves the murders Scotland Yard calls suicides, and anonymously writes penny mysteries mocking its dimmest inspector. That inspector is Woo Do-kyung: rough, rude, raised on the docks, and he keeps arresting the wrong man every time she's about to catch the right one. Now Mayfair gentlemen are dying after receiving black cards stamped with a silver hourglass, and the next card has her name on it.
