Wet Paint

Hong Kong, typhoon season. Architect Adrian Kessler, forty-five, has built his wife's family a tower on the harbour and hasn't drawn anything for himself in years. To finish its forty-meter atrium, his wife commissions Im Si-won, a brooding mural painter who works through the night on the scaffolding. Adrian starts staying late. Si-won starts painting him into the mural, hidden in every crowd and every shadow. The gala unveiling is in thirty days, and his wife never misses a detail.
